Are coaches police checked?

Here at rainbow Gymnastics child welfare is at the core of our coaching and all coaches and volunteers must pass an enhanced discourse though access NI before entering the building when children are present. We also have 2 qualified welfare officers who oversee all staff and ensure all children safeguarding needs are adhered to.

What are the participant : coach ratios for your gymnastics classes?

Mini Gym 1:6
Recreation 1:8

We operate classes with low numbers per coach to ensure safe and productive learning. Cheer and circus have slightly more participants than gymnastics due to the nature of the classes.

Why do I need a rainbow Gymnastics club membership?

The membership year at Rainbow Gymnastics runs from 1st September to 31st August. Baby gym participants do not require club membership. All other gymnasts require rainbow Gymnastics membership to attend the club. All members will receive termly assessments of their child which is covered under the membership.

What if the class I want to join is full?

If the class you are interested in is full it is recommended that you search for a similar class on an alternative time and day. If there are no suitable alternatives you can join the waiting list for any class. The waiting list operate on a first come first serve basis.

How do I change class?

Please email the office and we can do the transfer for you. The office is open every day with the exception of Sunday and Monday.

What is the British Gymnastics membership?

Circus and cheer participants do not require this membership

Rainbow Gymnastics is affiliated with British Gymnastics who provide various benefits to our members including personal accident insurance for our members and a thorough welfare and safeguarding children policy. Non members of Rainbow Gymnastics can take part in up to 2 trial sessions, after which they must join as members of Rainbow Gymnastics and become members of British Gymnastics. The British Gymnastics membership year runs from 1st September to 31st August and is paid directly to themselves at their website www.britishgymnastics.org.

Each September the member’s membership needs to be renewed and a new annual membership will need to be paid.

How are rainbow Gymnastics fees paid?

All fees are paid through the class4kids platform. This platform allows parents to login to their account at any time and check on their booking status. Payments are made monthly and are taken on the 1st of every calendar month.

How will I know if my child is ready to move up a class?

Children at rainbow are constantly monitored by our professional team and assessed monthly to check development and progress. Any children who are ready to move up to the next level will be notified and their parents emailed to confirm this. You will then select a suitable class that has availability and we will move them across to their new class.

What should my child wear to the class?

What happens if a participant becomes a member after the start of the month?

Any participant that join after the 1st Month will only be required to pay for the classes they are attending in the month. This can be done at reception.

What are ability awards and advanced awards?

Rainbow Gymnastics Medal and certificate and testing which can be purchased if achieved for £5.00 at reception. Children will be tested on a variety of skills to achieve this award.

Preschool starts at level 1 and the highest award is level 3

Ability Awards starts at award 8 and the highest award is 1

Advanced awards start at level 1 bronze, then silver then gold and move to level 2 bronze, silver and gold and onwards

Children always start if new to the awards at the lowest level and have to progress upwards.

Mini Gym – new members will always begin at award 1

Recreation and upwards – New members will always start at award 8

Do we offer refunds or makeup sessions for missed classes?

We do not offer refunds with the exception of a gymnast injuring themselves in the class while participating. In this case we would refund any classes missed due to the injury.

We cannot offer make up classes if your class is missed under any circumstances.

If a class is not able to run as planned we will do our best to provide a makeup service on a suitable date except in exceptional circumstances beyond our control – e.g. adverse weather conditions/ global events/pandemics

What is a progress report?

Children will be given a progress report based on the skills they are working on in class. If your child is suited to moving up a class you will be notified on this report. This is not related to ability awards.
